Ballyfermot College of Further Education, presents:

BCFE Ceoltóir Folk Club

Dia Duit,

Welcome to the 'Ceoltóir Folk Club' web-site.  The Ceoltóir Folk Club is organized by the traditional music students of Ballyfermot College and is run annually over a number of months.  The Folk Club is held in the intimate surroundings of Áras Chrónáin Irish Cultural Centre, a magnificent Georgian house, a stone's throw away in neighbouring Clondalkin.  The club provides a performance platform for singers and musicians currently enrolled in the Ceoltóir course and each club night a leading figure from the traditional music circuit performs as an honoured guest.

Throughout the years these intimate performances have been filmed and archived.  One aim of this web-site is to provide easy access to this unique music footage which can now be viewed on our 'Performances' page.  This page also showcases rising new talent, so you may also get the opportunity to see the traditional stars of tomorrow!

We thank both our student and guest performers who have kindly agreed to the publication of video material on this dedicated site.  The 'Artists Links' page provides further information and contact details for each contributor.

Notation and lyrics to many of the tunes and songs performed in the Ceoltóir Folk Club can be accessed from our 'Resources' page along with links to further information and sites of interest.

This web-site will also provide a platform and framework for projects and research regularly undertaken by Ceoltóir, see Child Ballads and Ceol Rince Na hÉireann project pages and our current call for performers!

The Ceoltóir web-site will be regularly updated with new video footage, resources etc.  We trust we are making a worthwhile contribution to the traditional music world and would once again like to give a big thanks to everyone involved.

go raibh maith agaibh!
